Tung Hing Studio produced the foremost Chinese landscape photographs of the nineteenth century. The studio is renowned for its series of views in and around Fuzhou and the Min River. The topographical photographs reveal a sensitive aesthetic which developed out of traditional Chinese landscape painting. These expansive views, including mountains, streams and waterfalls, are landmarks of early Chinese photography.
